Hey everyone i have been modifying my town car for a while now and I just got my crower stage 2 cams installed along with a new torque converter. Everyone always hears a lot of lope with cams but mine is pretty quiet until I put it in drive. I was just curious what you guys think of the sound, so I made a little idle video.

Here is also a little take off video I made before he cams and converter.

What do you guys think? Any opinion is much appreciated.

Love it
But sounds like (and I could be wrong) it needs long tube headers and free flowing exhaust.

Tell us more about your car and pics please.

Actually the car has stainless works headers and custom 2.5 inch catback exhaust with flowmaster 40s lol. It has catted lead pipes but thats because I don't like the smell of no cats. I also have a marauder airbox, steeda pullies, and 3.73 gears with a limited slip differential. The videos I took were with a cell phone so they don't do it justice, I am hoping to get a gopro soon.

This car is my daily driver and has served me well for a few years now. I am just at 120000 miles with many more to come as long as I don't blow anything up lol. I have taken it to the drag strip several times and have a best of 14.4 but that was with a bad tune and plus my tires were spinning a lot. I also have some suspension mods so the car handles pretty good as well.

The pictures I have are from about a year ago when my car had straight tips out the back so I no longer have those but everything else is the same on my car.

The town car forum is like a ghost town, where is all the love for America's greatest limos? Lol. Are some people having a hard time viewing the videos? I know photobucket can be troublesome at times when trying to view people's profiles. If people are having a hard time I can upload to YouTube or something.

Your thread has had at least 110 views. I wouldn't quite call that a ghost town. Evidently most viewers aren't interested in what you have done and/or don't care to comment.

You might appreciate all opinions, but I can promise you that you wouldn't like mine. ;)

I guess I've always thought of a Town Car being a luxury car, not a street rod or a dragster.

I don't think I need to say more.

Good luck and have fun.

Not that I want to steer people away from here
I like what your doing to your car please keep posting
But for town car stuff you will get more response on lincolnsonline.com
You can't stop posting here though.

I think it's awesome, and a marked improvement for relatively few mods. The Town Car should have been equipped with the 4v engine since 2003 but Ford figured people were happy with less power, even though Cadillac had been putting the Northstar into everything for almost a decade by then.

Another option would have been to give the Town Car the 3v 4.6 with with the 5spd auto. That would have put it on par with anything else you could get at the time. Instead they decided to leave it untouched until it ceased production, even at a time where it still led Lincoln sales. Meanwhile even Hyundai sells a 430hp 5.0 liter, 8spd luxury sedan today!

The main reason I went with a Continental this time (once had a modded Grand Marquis) is because it starts out with more power and is easy to get even more, even with the launch disadvantage of FWD. From 30+ it'll keep a smile on your face -- and a frown on the owner of the latest Hemi Charger!

Looks like my car, I only done some minor mods to my town car. I have a 1998 cartier (so it already has dual exhaust). I have March underdrive pulleys, AFE intake, 3.73 gears, and fairly recently an aluminum driveshaft. I plan on swapping in a dohc 4.6 from a mark 8 when I have the garage space.
