What temperature should the coolant temperature be at when in operation? Is there an acceptable range? Just wondering.

The needle in the middle. There's a very broad range that the computer translates to "ok". When I was working on the fan conversion I think 200 to 230 left the needle in the middle.

The thermostat is supposed to be closed at 192° F and fully open by 219° F. I think that the few times that I have monitored mine while driving and idling, it was at 200° ± 5°. This was in the summer time.

It fluctuates between 210 and 220. The needle stays just below the halfway mark. So I'm good.

I'm glad someone bought this topic up. Using an OBD tool, my car runs around 201-205F and after a half hour of driving the hydraulic fan is screaming but the coolant temps hardly change. The needle is always in the middle btw, never touches above the midway mark.
