if anyone is interested you can buy them online at autozone's web site. $10.99

the autozone stores stock them but they usually are sold out.

the filter number and part number is M1-209 (at least for the 2000 6cyl)

i would hope mobil makes a filter for the V8, maybe autozone just doesn't stock it online. maybe they'll have it their stores. I think there are some stores in Dallas. maybe they could special order them for you.

you could also try autobarn.com (you might want to call them, I don't trust their order form)

Apparently not.

I went to Mobil1's Web site ( http://www.mobil1.com/ ), and had it it help me decide which oil to use. Surprise, surprise, it was Mobil1 5W-20, but it also said "no special oil filter" was required. It had a link to get a filter recomendation, but they only list the Fram PH5618 and Purolator L25522.

I'd say that means Mobil doesn't make one for the V8--or, at least, they don't make one for the '03-'06 V8s...
