Hmmm....Is this what other countries think about the US.

What if they ousted the Largest Terrorist with the largest stock pile of WMD's.

Do you think they would find WMS's.

Which country is the only country to have ever used Atomic Weapons?????

Which country has killed more thousands of innocent civilians????

Which country flexes its muscle and supports tyrants to rule over their people as long as the puppet government will give US what it wants????

How long will the rest of the world sit and watch?????

I always thought of the US as the good guys….I don’t think other countries think that way anymore.

I love living in the United States of America…But I am afraid of what the future holds for our role in the world.

I’d like to believe we are the good guys….the world heroes….but I feel the rest of the world looks at us as the selfish arrogant bullies.

An interesting set of facts concerning this country, now let us take a few steps back in history.
At the time, I was pretty young, so I can't reflect on the public outcry, or the lack of it , during WWII.
The viet nam war certainly had it's critics at the time.
I find it so strange that for the most part, the American public has become so mundane in it's opinion of the state of the union today.
It was not that long ago when this country was respected in much of the world so, we only have to step backa little in time.
The outcry in the world was non-existant when Japan was bombed.
There was no world outcry when we went into the first gulf war under Bush senior.
At that time we were for the most part, still respected in the world.
So, ask ourselves, what happened?
George w. Bush is what happened.
Even as short in history as the Clinton administration, we were still respected in most parts of the world.
True, a hatred was festering, especially in the middle east.
Still, the president ,at that time , did not stand up and say, "you are either with us or against us".
This president has made an extremely grave mistake by anouncing to the rest of the world, "We will go it alone if we have to".
What he was telling the rest of the world in simpiler terms is,"I am the big cowboy from texas, and in texas we don't take crap from anyone'
"We take em on, with or without help", who the hell needs you".
This is the impression this president has left through out thhe world,.
No wonder they hate our guts.
This presiden has not learned the lesson ,that this is not the "range" and going it alone is not the way to go.
The blame for our reputation in the world today lies squarely on the shoulders of one George w. Bush.

Well most recently, Cambodia (Pol Pot & company), China, The Soviet Union, Germany, and Japan to name just a few.

While George W. certainly has played cowboy one must remember he is also the front man for a large nunber of elites who support him as a means to further their goals. Also there are those who seek to displace the U.S. to furth their own goals and who would love to see us lorded over by some form of "world government".
The interest of the U.S. doesn't always follow that of other countries and so when needed we should have the guts to go our own way.

Sorry Rich,

That is just a big heaping pile of cow dung! Except for this line..."I’d like to believe we are the good guys….the world heroes….but I feel the rest of the world looks at us as the selfish arrogant bullies."

Now take a step back in time and view what the world would be like without our interference. Namely, places like Cambodia, China, The Soviet Union, Germany, and Japan as listed by Mach8. Be thankful for the sacrifices made by your brothers, uncles, fathers, and grandads. Be thankful you are not speaking speaking German or Japanese. Be thankful that we are the only country in this world willing to stand up for what is right, regardless of the popularity of the decision. I remember when Europe reviled us because of what Ronald Reagan stood for and his stance against the Russians. We were once again proven right. We have always been right, and will continue to always be right ~ when we are governed and led by men that do the right thing, not the most popular or even the most politically correct thing.

I salute President Bush for doing what had to be done. Under the circumstances, there was no other choice. And if you pull your head out the sand and look at the oil-for-food scandal, you will see that the rest of the world put money and oil ahead of what doing what was right and necessary. You should be thanking God that George Bush was the President at this time in our history, and not Al Gore. God help us what might have happened had Al Gore been put in charge of stamping out terrorist regimes.

..."What if they ousted the Largest Terrorist with the largest stock pile of WMD's."

--Well, you're half right and half wrong. While we (the US)do own the largest stockpile of WMD's in the world that is only because of when the USSR was dissolved approx. 30% of it's nuclear weapons were in Kazakhstan. A few years after their independence the Republic of Kazakhstan turned over "all" stores of Uranium 232 in it's possesion. But wait 10% of it was missing...I wonder where it went...

..."Which country is the only country to have ever used Atomic Weapons?????"

--An action which saved countless lives in what would have been the most bloody, savage invasion known to man...The Japanese surrendered not because of American military might or the use of the Hydrogen Bomb. They surrendered out of fear of retribution from the Chinese and Soviets whose people they had murdered and ruled over for 6 years. Occupation by the US seemed like paradise in comparison. We however did not know this and without the use of the H-bomb we would have invaded and well, the outcome would have been gruesome...

..."Which country has killed more thousands of innocent civilians????"

--Ever heard of Nazi Germany? 7.5 million in innocent people were killed over 7 years for their belief in a particular religion. This is just an ignorant comment...

..."Which country flexes its muscle and supports tyrants to rule over their people as long as the puppet government will give US what it wants????"

-- If you're speaking of Pervez Musharaff, he took over in a bloodless military coup in order to take power away from a corrupt and self-defeating government. The state department refers to his type as a "benevolent dictator". He has voiced many times that he will gladly give power to a democratically elected government when the time is right. Just read about the man and you'll understand...

..."How long will the rest of the world sit and watch?????"

--Just what exactly are you saying here...

..."I always thought of the US as the good guys….I don’t think other countries think that way anymore."

--Have you ever been to another country...I'm not talking about Canada or a trip to Barbados but I mean a real stinking, festering crap hole. Have you ever seen the look on a young starving boy's face when you hand him food. Have you ever had a mother tell you how a ruthless evil man killed her sons because they stood up to the raping of their sister. Have you ever had a man cry and hug you...thanking you for the freedom he so desperately desired...I have...and until you see the world through your own eyes instead of on the TV...just be quiet.

..."I’d like to believe we are the good guys….the world heroes….but I feel the rest of the world looks at us as the selfish arrogant bullies."

--Hey, they same way alot of people see cops...but who do they call when someone robs them. Everyone hates authority figures. We make everyone follow the rules. Were like the parent who smacks your hand for reaching in the cookie jar. Oh, by the way, it's only the ignorant people in these "other" countries that hate us. The ones who take the time to see the truth agree with us.

What do you mean "under the circumstances there was no choice"?
What circumstances.
Till this very day, there is not one bonified reason why we invaded Iraq.
He changed his reasons for the invasion as often as I change underwear.
Every day he had a new reason for the invasion.
He did not do the right thing and without the other major members of the U.N. he should not have invaded.
Any one with half a brain could have seen the outcome of these foolish actions.
Now we are so bogged down in that country they will be making snowballs in hell before we can extricate ourself from it.
As I said in an earlier thread, I am not happy with the president's decisions but now that he has been voted in for another 4 years, it is important we support thoes decisions and do all we can to save face in the rest of the world.

Please don't attempt to draw parallels between those events and this meaningless, pre-emptive war in Iraq. To do so only reveals your ignorance. To state that if we didn't help out France in WWII that we would be speaking German is rediculous. Same about implying if we didn't bomb Japan that we'd be speaking Japanese. This is the oldest, lamest GOP-ish rhetoric in the book. In both of those situations we were defending either our allies or ourselves. In the case of Iraq we have taken un-necessary, pre-emptive, offensive action aganst a country that not only never attacked the US, but posed no immediate threat. Apples & peanuts. And to start such an action BEFORE finishing the job in Afghanistan is simply, completely inexcuseable.

You can say that now because we won. What if we would have lost?

You would be the first guy to start bithcing and whining if we had gotten attacked again after 9/11 and I can hear you now...Why didn't Bush do something about it. Blah, Blah, Blah. You need to go and read all the quotes from the Democratic leadership, from Bill Clinton on down to John Kerry. They all said that Iraq was a GRAVE danger. You can sit back and play arm-chair quarterback all you want but the fact remains that we have not been attacked again. (Knock on wood). How do you know that our pre-emptive action in Iraq didn't thwart the evil dictators plans? You don't! When it comes to our liberties and freedom and the lives of our fellow Americans, I will always place my allegiances on the side of protecting America at all costs. Fortunately, you get the benefits of living in this society that so many others are willing to fight for.

Finish the job in Afganistan??? They just had their own free elections, 1st time ever. Millions and millions of men and women voted. They had less problems in their election than we did in ours. Come on Johnny, get with the program.

Well, I probably would have taken a Japanese class in HS instead of a French class. But I'd still be speaking English!

Quit trying to displace the blame for this! The over-inflation of the "Iraqi Threat" that was shoved down the throats of the American public leading up to THIS invastion of Iraq originated from the White House, and from NOWHERE ELSE! And as far as I'm concerned, the American people HAVE been under a "terrorist attack" for the last 3 years. We've been living in a state of constant terror thanks to the fear driven into our minds by the BuSh administration.

Meanwhile Osama Bin Ladin lurkes freely................. and the Taliban & AlQuida groups grow stronger day by day. If that is your idea of "a job well done" and "Mission Accomplished", you have set your expectations for our CIC extremely too low.
