I joined an oldslowmobile forum today to try and get some help locating some parts. And when I tried to link the pics of it here to my post it said this post contains spam and will not be posted. So what now?

I used to drive a 77 Salon which I wished I still had. Paid $2500 for it in 86 with 82K on the clock. Shifter was in the center and then I bought a 76 Supreme. I drove both cars up to around 190K before they finally started giving out on me. The 76 was $1500 with 90K, one owner. Good running cars.

Looks like you have a Salon front clip piece with the headlights in it. In 87, those grilles were $90 for each side.

Yes, they were just like the Supreme but had a center console and shifter and the cluster has a tach. I had an 86 before. I really liked that car.

Wow those 8-9 grill pieces I have are worth that damn much. It came with alot of extra parts. And I do have a center console and a tach, so does that mean I have a cutlass salon? Or just a clone maybe. Well I still can't find a forum that is half what this one is.

All I can tell you is in 85 we were shopping for one for my grandmother (I latter got the car) and we saw well over 100 Salons and Supreams that day (not exaterating) and I noticed every single Salon had both and every Supream but two had neither. I saw a pinkish landau roofed Supream with a center shifter and I saw a banana yellow one with a tach. I remember the salesman saying when I asked him why that was (always was a car nut and read EVERYTHING back then) he simply said sometimes the plants make a small mistake but the pinkish one was a special orde but the guy died before the car showed up.

So who knows.

I wish I could find a forum full of olds knowledge like here with mark 8's. It will all come around soon enough and mine did have the landau roof it was silver car with burgundy interior and gray top.
