I have a 2000 lincoln ls v8 and it has been recently overheating. I also recently fried my climate control somehow when installing my new head unit. I was wondering if theses issues are possibly related.

Although the car briefly overheated before this but soon rectified itself. My gut is telling me thermostat, or maybe its my wallet just hoping. any thoughts?

I am going to replace my thermostat and I was wondering if there is a way to bleed my cooling system with no climate control. I have a climate control ordered from E-bay, but it wont be here until next week and i really need my car sooner than that.

thanks in advanced!

So, you might try searching this site a little bit.
You most likely have a problem with the hydraulic cooling fan and/or cracked plastic cooling system parts. The crack let air in. You may be able to bleed it out, but that's only temporary. You have to find the problem that let the air in to begin with.

Bleeding will work without the DATC module installed. The DCCV (heater valves) fully open when not powered, and with no DATC module, they won't be powered.

Use search string as following in Google;

Code:
 "overheating" site:http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com

Only cuz they recently let me in on this little great secret on how to search this forum correctly.

best of luck.

Wow joegr, that was your 7000'th post ... but no ones counting.

Does ur fan spin fast ir slow? If it spins slow it's the hydraulic fan pump actuator.

The fan seems to be spinning properly.

I did the bleeding process as good as I could with no climate control and this seems to have fixed my problem..... For now.
I have the climate control on its way and am going to replace cooling system components soon.

Are you from wi 209?
