sometimes when my ls idles for too long or i dont have the heat on it overheats and if it overheats with the heat on, it blows cold air. ive heard of some other guys having problems and needing something like a secondary water pump replaced or a computer replaced. Whats wrong? Oh and does anybody else have problems with their heated seats?

Well, the heated seats would be a different issue from the rest. As for overheating and cold air I suggest checking the easiest stuff first. Is their air in the coolant system? Do a search for instructions on how to bleed the system and do that.

Sorry if those are obvious things for you. I'm just not always sure who here has "common sense"

bleed the system. Then find out where you're getting air, and have it fixed.

Dccv

The DCCV is located in front on the engine passenger side down low near the radiator, you will see 5 hoses attached to it. If your water is hot and you're getting cool from vents then the DCCV is most likely the culprit. The DCCV controls the hot liquid to the heater core. The DCCV is actually two solenoid valves, it lets hot liquid flow from the water pump to the two chambers of the heater core. All the crap in the coolant finds its way to the DCCV and jambs the solenoid valves. If you want a full report with pictures PM me. You can take the DCCV off and repair it by cleaning and lubricating the valves and pistons. Or just buy a new one and install it.
