P0442 code, Vapor Leak (small one)

Got two new rear tires put on this morning, come out to leave and Check Engine Light is on. Verified cap was on tight as I did get gas yesterday and it is. I stopped and filled the tank to the top and made sure cap was on tight again. Stopped by auto parts store and used their code reader. P0442 Vapor Leak (small one) came up. Should I give this a while and see if it clears or should it have cleared if the problem was with the gas cap? Thanks

If the problem is corrected, the light will clear itself after the right driving situations. It might take a day or three.
