My car was starting at 3000 rpm and stalling shortly after. This only happens in the morning when I first start the car. It occasionally throws black smoke from the exhaust too. After the car has run a little bit it does not stall at idle. I have also very poor gas mileage ( around 15 MPG city ) I have check engine code p1518 IMRC stuck open.

I have tried to manually open and close the valve with my fingers. I can open and close the passenger side valve easily ( I can feel it ). However I can not tell if I can move the driver side.
I did the seafoam treatment through the PCV valve. I unplugged one of the two vacuum lines and let it suck it up.

My car now starts at lower RPMs but still wants to stall at first. I still have the code and poor gas mileage. I have read that seafoam through the brake booster is the most effective way. I would like to try to pour seafoam through the brake booster vaccum line. I have no idea where the brake booster vaccum line is or how to unplug it. I have heard that it is in the back of the engine.

Can anyone show me where the brake booster vaccum line is and some tips of how to do this? Any other suggestions? If nothing else Im going to pull an IMRC from the junkyard.

disclaimer! first gen. 93-96.
see the hose circled in red? that's the vacuum line for the brake booster. the booster itself will be a large black circular thing just under the brake master cylinder. BE CAREFUL unhooking the vac line from the booster. the plastic tee at the booster will be fragile and is a one way check valve. don't wanna break it.

Thanks! I should have mentioned I have a gen 2. I hope it is the same Ill look in the morning.

I think its time for me to get a sig! Just in case I fail to mention the specs of my car it will still be in my post.

this was 4 years ago dude.
but the good news! i think the search is probably working!

time not important. Information all in one location makes searching easier, than having to search 10 or more threads to find what you need, especially when new pics with descriptions are added.
