...Because it looks badass. :gr_devil:
Now she really turns heads on the highways and boulevards!
If any of you are curious as to how to do it, I'll answer your questions ahead of time and tell you how to do it.
First, I used a 750 grit to sand-down the crappy-ass "chrome" plastic parts on the grille, sidemarkers, and hood strip. I scraped-off every little bit of the worn fake chrome down to the grey bare plastic. Some parts needed a bit heavier grit to get the fake stuff off. After cleaning it with alcohol, I began with a couple of coats of Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter. Then, I gave a couple of light coats of Dupli-Color black paint. Finally, a couple coats of Dupli-Color clear coat paint to finish the shine. All of these can be had at Wal-Mart for cheap bucks. I should note that I did not paint the bumper- they are actually the bumper strips from a Ford Police Interceptor (YW72-17C830-AA). They come in black after 1999 and fit perfectly.
The grille had some minor scrapes and damages that is only noticeable up close. Some parts of the grille look rough from scrapes/ scratches that were already there. It looks evil when your done. It will look chaotic when I add my HID lenses to the mix (hell should freeze over first). I am quite satisfied and recommend matching the paint to your trim parts to any Gen-I owner looking for the LSC monochrome look- no matter if you drive a black, silver, white, or special color Mark VIII...
