paintin gthe trim

You're much better off to get some vinyl tape and cover the chrome using that.

Taking it off, sanding, and painting is a lot of work.

Buying some black vinyl and covering it up is a lot simpler, and preferred by many.

An example of where you can buy some of this black vinyl: http://www.bmwshadowline.com/

I think ima take mine off nd paint it, or jus tape off parts of the bumper with it still on, cuz I'm gonna paint mine too, especially the rear.

I wanna paint it cuz the back trim is cracked pretty bad I dont mind sanding and painting just wanna know if I can just take them off without breaking them

Not sure on the gen1's, but on the gen2, it's clipped on from the inside so you basically pull off but have to unclip it.

are you talking about the chrome around the windows or on the bumpers?

the reason most people dont try to paint it is because paint has a har time sticking to chrome (most paint shops wont warranty it)

the crome on the bumper I figured what I would do is sand it then spray an etching primer on it then spray paint then the primer

What fiberglass you speak of?
They were etching over the fake plastic chrome in this topic as I understood. Seems to have worked for many including myself. Still holds up to date.
