I've seen a few pics of the "Panther edition" in the past...even on a couple of the rare convertible models.
the "panther" was a trim package that any dealer could order as a "kit" and install themselves. They didnt have to install the entire kit.
from what I have gathered, the kit included, but was not limited to:
*some* had the "carriage roof"(faux convert)
gold pinstriping
gold emblem/visibility package(antenna trim/tail light chrome was replaced with gold/grill brow could be gold, as well as headlight chrome trim replaced with gold)
Panther emblems on front fenders
gold trunk lock cover
simulated wood paneling in interior
replacement wheels(rare) with gold Lincoln center caps/lug nut caps
dual tip rear mufflers
In simple english, it's nothing more than a trim package, to try to highlight certain showroom models to make them stand out from the other Mark VIII's. Oh, and that way the dealer could mark up their kit/time and make more in-house money.
here is a carDomain site of a black 95 panther
