Parking Brake/Brakes

Got a 95 conti, and all of a sudden my parking brake doesnt always release automatically when i shift into drive. Anyone else got this problem? Also, is it easy to change the brake pads and rotors on this car, or should i have a professional do it (could bad brakes be affecting the parking brake?). thanks!

I found as my brakes became worn, the system wouldn't lock down the e-brake very well. Upon pad replacement, the cable system had to be adjusted to lock and un-lock correctly. On the driver side, underside of the car is where the cables run. There is a coupler that can be adjusted (hard to explain how - but I can e-mail you the step by step directions from the OEM manual if you want).
