hi everyone I have just recently purchased a 2001 lincoln LS V6 I bought the car privately for a young girl when we bought it from her she said that the ABS light was on the trac control lpight was on and the horn didnt work so we bought it and thought we got it for a steal well that monday i went to the MVA and got 30 day temporary tags and the following day I took the car to grease monkey and they told me that under the hood was in horrible shape cause all my fluids were leaking well i decided to take it to minekee for a ssecond opinion and they first ingformed me that it was going to be very expensive to fix anything on the car because under the hood is compared to working on a jaguar this was before they even pulled my car in to a bay so i had them run the diagnostic or whatever they did they only had my car in the bay for about mins before they came and had me come out there with them when i got out there my car was on a lift they showed me the transmission and pulled a flap back and said it was not leaking well the man behind the counter who took me out to the bay asked the guy who supposedly checked all my fluids if all my fluids were at the right levels and he told him yes right in front of me but informed me I had a small oil leak tht was all together was gonna cost me 2500$ but it wasnt gonna do any damage to my car as long as i checked my oil frequently and topped it off if it got low well not even a week later i was on my way back from dinner with my 2 children at my grand mothers when i went to get on the highway and the car would barly get up to 10 miles an hour well a guy at the store i pulled in to came out and looked under my hood and told me to put the car in drive and hit the accdelerator well he said it sounded llike my transmission he looked for a tranny dipstick and of course there isnt one so i managed to get it home then to the transmission shop the next day and it was the transmission and it was shot the guy who worked on the car said the fluid that was bone dry and when he wiped inside of the place where the fluid goes it was black and he has never smelled a smell that horrible when changing a transmission well they also took care of my abs light and trac control light which was a sensor that the wires had been cut when someone had changed the sway bar in the rear cause apparently they cut the bolts off to replace the sway bar and they put a push button horn in because they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it cause it wasnt the clockspring because the blinkers work
SO NOW THAT I HAVE GIVEN YOU A RUNDOWN OF EVERYTHING THAT I HAVE BEEN THRU WITH THIS CAR SINCE THE DAY I GOT IT I HAVE A PROBLEM THAT STILL HASNT BEEN FIXED ON MY CAR AND IF ANYONE COULD HELP I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE THE ADVICE SO HERE GOES:
well the car wouldnt pass inspection because the emergency brake light didnt come on when the e brake was engaged or during a bulb check so i took the gauge cluster out and there was not bulb in it so i replaced the bulb well now the light wont go off and in the state of maryland you will not pass inspection with a malfunctioning park brake light well i replace the switch in the e brake console i also unhooked the battery and let it sit unhooked for like 20 minutes to reset the computer and its still wont go off the brake fluid it full took the cap off and looked inside but it looks nasty the sensor seemed clean PLEASE HELP ME THIS IS ALL I HAVE LEFT TO FIX TO PASS INSPECTION AND GET PERMANANT TAGS AND MY 30 DAY TEMP TAGS HAVE EXPIRED THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICAL MY FAMILY OF FOUR HAS AND I REALLY NEED HELP TO FIGURE THIS PROBLEM OUT PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP THE LIGHT I AM TALKING ABOUT IS THE LIGHT FOR A MANUAL E BRAKE THAT IN ON THE CONSOLE WHERE THE GEAR SHIFTER ALSO IS THE LIGHT SAYS BRAKE THEN UNDER THAT HAS A (!) AND A (P) AND IS RED???????
