Part list for 4.10/4.30 swap

No. Bearings and races, seals, set of shims for the carrier and the pinion depth, compound for checking the pattern, micrometer, pinion depth guage, dial indicator with mount...oh yea...a crush sleeve and new nut. You can get most of those parts in an installation kit. If you don't have the tools, then you probably haven't set up many diffs. Have a very experienced tech do it for you...you'll be glad you did.

lol, well... i havent done ANY, so i was figguring on having someone do it in the firstplace, i was just wondering what i need to get, so that i know what im getting, and make sure i get what i want.

As far as parts - I started with a used trac-lok differential and bought the following...

Ring & Pinion M-4209-G410 $149.25
Install Kit M-4210-B $78.20
2 axle seals $16.84
2 axle bearings $20.00
2 axle nuts $12.28
Trac-Lok Rebuild kit M-4700-B $39.10

Then you need gear oil, friction additive and speedo gear. You only need 1 axle nut if you only pull one wheel and axle.

where should i look for that? Where did you get it from?

what trak-lok diff should i get? just something that says 8.8" 28 spline? anything more?

I bought all the parts above from Max @ 5 Star.

I bought a used center section($150) to build up. Sold mine after the swap for the same money. I bought my trac-lok used and rebuilt it with a kit.

Summit has the Ford 8.8"/28 spline trac-loks new. There are many others to choose from depending upon your price range. Just get one for a Ford 8.8" and make sure it has 28 spline designation(NOT the 31 spline<Cobra>). :wrench

that brings me to another question...what was ur et b4, and after the swap?

I never had a b4 ET. My first trip to the track was with a chip, exhaust and 4.10s to get an ET of 14.544@96.25. :steering
