To start off I didn't run this. I had to sell it to fund my new race 555CI engine. But nice to see some of the stuff from a Paxton kit. This kit is a 99 Mustang cobra kit but main parts work on 96-98 cobras and mk8. One thing about the Novi 1000 is this is a super match to the 4.6L for a nice street blower. Its not to small or not to big to make 10PSI ish. Here is the whole kit with extras laid out.
Ok I'm going to have to make a disclaimer here because this is my car and I work on it how I please. This write up does not imply that this is the only way to do this or the best way.Just way I did it. That said,on we go.
Here is the head unit
Here is the pulley side
This kit was on a Gen2 Mk8 so it didn't come with the left relocate coil bracket so i made one here.
Almost done
Now I wanted to beef up the belt tenstioner so I picked up the STEEL cobra one
Then I needed to make the front oil pan bung for oil drain back. Here it is when I am making a scarf cut to match pan.
Here it is on the brand new pan now.
Here is the stock paxton thinish blower belt idler pulley mount. I didn't like how thin it was to hold the pulley so I made new one 5/8 thick instead of 1/2 thick.
To close the hood I had to shorten the water pipe that came with kit
Here I'm shortening the alum adapter for the same pipe. I got this so it was set .060 from the blower.
This alt bracket needed scarf cuts into it to clear water tube I don't have pics of that done.
Here is the billet mounting brackets
Here you can see all the new dead on str8 headunit spacers I made.
Here is blower on
Here is the scolloped cut water pipe spacer i made to nicely clear the plug wires
Here is one of the many bolts getting shortened to exact length
Here is the stock plastic blower intake tube and the other alum one I bought.
So thats about it thought you might like to see.
