4.10's, trak-Lok, MMX driveshaft, and 2.5" Duals with magnaflows.

Headers and total exhaust system.. My system cost over 2 grand but it frees up so much power and gives you a great sounding car.

Next would probally be the chip.

I wouldn't rate 4.10's cause to be honist you don't see that much gain in the 1/4 for the price you have to pay, although I love the gears with all my other mods... it does make the car more fun to drive on the low end. you def loose top end while racing.

To add to my list, I would have to add the chip, and a set of OEM HID's. Nothing like being able to see at night. Also, I have no problem hitting 155+ in my 95. Do you have a chip to change the shift patterns?

I do not have a problem getting up to 150mph either, even with 4.10's... I am saying while racing.. when you shift into overdrive you are loosing power. I don't know the ratio offhand but I do know its less than 1:1. so it takes longer to go from lets say 120-130 then it does from 80-90... or 10-20mph.. so if your racing and you shift into o/d you loose your momentium... I havn't raced tons of times at that speed but the times I have I loose my gaining abliity or if I am loosing I fall back way more when I am in o/d.

Chip($300), exhaust($500 plus labor), gears($600 plus labor), converter($800 plus labor), drag radials($250) and shift kit($100 plus labor and supplies).

Ball park prices I recall. All well worth the money IMHO.

It's .70:1

Hrm....I guess I have'nt noticed it too much because I never raced that fast. I don't drive near as hard as I used to. But it'ss nice to know you can put it down and go that fast if need be. :)

Happy Birthday! I know I am a little late, but you should still be partying, I love birthdays!!

Ya Mike said it perfectly :I . HID's are awsome accepted for the price.

Ford w/o discount $1600 pair
Call Max Five Star Ford probly get you a pair for around $1100. Thats if you don't already have some or if you want some.

I have talked to a friend that works for a really high end salvage yard here in arlington Texas. they only carry part that are for cars year 96 and newier. All of there cars parts are for bmw,Benz, Etc.. there shop is clean enough to eat off of the floor lol. Ok back to the story. A friend of mine gave me a set of HID/Angel Eye full set of headlight off of a 03 M5-BMW. Im going to attempt to make my own HID headlights :). Let me know if you think this is a bad idea. i have a pretty nice shope and a :q:q:q:q load of tools, and im very good at fiber, and plastics. I know its not my mk8 but im sure we can all respect this car that has taken me 3 years to build. This car has alot of history, and only has 37,547 miles on it, and its only an 89. Im going to post a video if anyone would like to see it please feel free to ask. thanks for the comments so far. I'll also post the spec on the stang if anyone is intrested (it only has 648rwhp :).

Did I miss sumthin'? Who told you it was my birthday?

well i thout you sed that
it was 100 plus labor so didnt know you did the work youself
at a shop how mouch you think it would cost to have a shift kit installed

Shift Kit- enough has already been said
3200 stall- brings a new life to the car ($595 to my doorstep)
Exhaust- didn't help performance much but is worth the attention it gets
MAF- gave the car a little more kick, runs smoother, and sounds pretty cool

Not a performance mod, but:
Subs- Attracts a lot of attention and adds a whole new world to music ($1300 w/ head unit)

Rims- Makes a huge difference to the appearence of the car

I said $100 plus labor so you know what the cost of the mod was without installation. I did the labor on the shift kit and gears. A local shop installed the exhaust I provided them for $70 and they provided the tips. I had a tranny shop install the converter. I installed the chip and good ole' Sears Auto put the drag radials on.

I never had the shift kit quoted as I knew I would do it myself. So I haven't a clue how much a shop would charge. No way was I going to let any other monkey in there. :D

But if I were a shop, I'd go broke, 'cause I'd charge you a couple hours and then it takes me all afternoon. :wrench

Where @ in arlington and the name , i need some parts for my 97 mk8.....

I have a B&M shift plus, but i would not recommend this for anybody else! The downshifts are too clunky.

hey, that Mustang looks sweet!

for me, the mod i liked the best was my chip-SCT 4-bank, with custom proggies. Makes my Mark perform the way I like it to.

in order of happiness-
1)chip
2)coil conversion, lowered, with fat swaybar out back
3)98+JMOD-spec 4R70W w/Mach 1 TC
4)exhaust-sweet sound of Dynomax race bullets
5)sound system
5)
