I swapped out the airbage for some Koni shocks and Eibach springs. Here are some pics. These pics are from the front suspension. Don't have rear pics yet.

Here is what I started with

I modified t-bird shock assemblies to use the Koni's:

Installed:

Won't be able to drive my car until late this months. I'll let you know my impressions of these shocks/springs

That looks like a nice setup, couple questions for ya: Did you get the shock assemblies out of a v8 or v6 t-bird, does it matter? In your modified pic, what part of the assembly is original to the t-bird, looks totally different... Is the whole silver part Koni, then the spring Eibach, then the top mounting plate t-bird? Does your car sit lower, higher, same as stock?

Thanks

It shouldn't matter if it is from a v6 or v8 bird, you are not using the springs. The yellow part is the koni. It slides into the stock shock assembly, You have to take a hack saw and cut about 1" off the end to remove the original shock then slide in the koni. I painted the shock housing aluminum silver. The mounting plate is from a t-bird.

The eibach springs are a 1.5" drop. It is not sitting on the ground yet since the rear is not finished yet.

Thanks for replying, I really appreciate it. The silver just looked a lot different to me I guess because of the angles of the picture. The second pic of it when silver, make the flanges? where it mounts to the spindle look beefier. Could you tell me where you purchased the Koni's?

Thanks again

One more thing, whats involved in the rear? Eibach springs, then Koni shocks in the stock location?

Rears are easy. Just remove the spring and the shock. Put an upper shock mount on the koni and install it just like a stock one. For the spring, you need an upper spring mount for the top of the spring. I got it from struts-r-us. I put a polyurethane spring isolator on the bottom of the spring. I got that from mn12performance.

I got the koni/eibachs from shox.com.
