Just thought i'd post pics of the marquis. They were taken 3 years ago and it has since started to rust on the quarters and haven't loved it very much since then.Had plans of lowering it but never got around to it. Besides they dont make a kit and i'd hace to have custom springs made at a cost of 175+ shipping each for both f+r.
In the pic were towncar seats i put in with a homemade center console. Alpine cd, mtx 1501d w/3 12" mtx 8000's and a fosgate 800.4 hooked to jl tweeters, fosgate 6x9's, and boston acoustics up front. Since i have put in a high end pioneer h/u, 03 leather marquis seats. Took all the rest of the stereo out to put in the lincoln this spring..

Pretty Nice!

I really like that center console... I've been wanting to do one, just too lazy.

Here is my Panther :D

It took alot of work. Not perfect but it worked. I try to be a simple perfectionist and got mad everytime i saw it. Actually sold and installed the towncar seats to mest30 over on cv.net when he had the michagan blue cvpi.

I actually am a member there under 1hotmerc but dont visit much since i got the mark. That and the merc hasn't had any probs. One of the best things i love about it.

I was thinking of doing all the body work on the drivers door and fixing the rust and painting it a flat black. I'd paint the rear facia, grill and shave the side moldings. I think that would look nice compared to what it looks like now.

The merc has rust on the 2 front fenders (common) , rear left fender, 2 small dents on the drivers door and 1 softball sized on the lower portion, 4 knuckle imprents from when the lady pissed me off on the drivers side qp, softball hit the top of the roof, and a scrape on the front bumper when a peice of wood fell off a truck. Sounds like some fun body work once the mark is close to being done.(if ever) I love doing body work.

The caprice i had before the merc i shaved the emblems, antenna, side moldings, ect. Painted it white and was done with it.

No matter what it would look like when i'm done its good to no that it can't look that much worse, with the rust and dents n all.

something like this but everything would be painted. It would be like a fresh start paint wise if i decide to paint it in the future.

I think your door hinges might be a little out of adjustment.
Shouldn't be a hard fix though.

if we're showing pics of our panthers, I'll show my old Box vic......I miss this car....had 3.55 gears, polished throttle body, custom ram air and a few other goodies.....my first car....i miss that thing....untill I drive the mark viii.....then i forget all about the vic!

I'm presuming you have a GS Marquis?

Eibach made a set of springs (for the front anyways) for the 92-02 Panthers, had a set in my Marquis LS. But being an LS, it had rear air suspension, which was easy to lower.

Check out the Crown Vic site listed, those guys will know more than us. Also consider www.crownvic.us - smaller group, but more knowledgeable.

last time i checked 2 years ago they didnt make a lowering kit for the front. i'll check it out.

here's my old box marquis, 1989 ls with cherry bomb on a hacked pipe (i was 16 making 5.15 an hour, haha) miss that car
also pictured is the car i replaced it with, that's the way i scanned it in a couple years ago and i'm too lazy to fix it to just show the marquis

if anyone wants a cobra swap done on their panther let me know i can do it in madison wi drive away.

if i had a job i'd take you up on that. You mean just the basic 4.6 dohc right? what else would you need minus the engine? wire harness? ecm?, ect. what do you charge. pm me if need be.

ha, I remember you! :D Had you kept the 1hotmark name here I would've caught on sooner.

I'm dRock96marquis over there.

You still see Jason or Raptor at all?

As for lowering springs, Eibach only makes/made a kit for the front of 03- panthers now.
Check out coilsprings.com. I had them make a custom lowering set for my Marquis to my specifications. Reasonably priced.

LOL, of course i remember you. cv.net was the only board i was on that isnt under this name. As for the guys, i only went to one meet and havn't seen them since. Nice bunch of guys though.

I thought so about the lowering springs. cs.com was pretty expencive at the time so i didnt buy them. Now that i got a mark it seems like nothing.
