Hey Guys,

Finally finished off the system. Simple and clean....I hope you'll think.

Check out my gallery which I've just corrected.

Here is a before and after of the trunk as well as a shot of the components in the door.

BTW, thanks for all the tips and help thus far.

Hey thats a nice clean install. How do you feel the sub sounds facing up into the back deck? (If I'm looking at the pictures correctly that is) I've tried facing forwards and backwards in my other cars, but never up. I'm going to be starting my system soon and I'm trying to think of something different for a sub setup that will hopefully let me use my back seat pass-through (or at least one of the halves) and let me get to the trunk. I might be limited to one sub by doing that, but we'll see.

Also, I'm thinking of the same Polk components, but couldnt decide between 5 1/4 or 6 1/2. Were there fittment issues (after making your own bracket of course) and how do they sound? Thanks.

Thank you.

The sub is facing at about 45 degrees up and back. Didn't notice a single difference in sound front straight back.
You can easily get away with leaving the 40-half of your rear seats un-blocked. Not sure what kind of Bass you want, but for me, 1 12 is more than enough. This Infinity works in a 1.25 enclosure.

The polks are 6.5's and fit just fine after I built the adapter plate.
Very accurate reproduction and excellent mid tones, with a clean (and not piercing) high. The mid, is a purer mid-range though, so keep the heavy bass out of them.

do you have more pictures of the right side of your trunk? I can't tell but are those crossovers? how did you fab that up... thanks, i was thinking of doing the same but with an amp, how did you connect it to get it to stay in place. looks good.

Thank you.

Yes those are the crosses for the components.

That 3 sided piece of wood is cut to just the right hieght so that it wedges in under the rear seat latch support. Trunk on the bottom, rear seat lever support on top. Pure friction. Has never come loose and that piece I did 8 months ago. You can definately put an amp there. I was going to put my V12 there. Right above the battery too.

Here is another shot.

BTW, one issue is that the trunk light gets impeaded from doing its job. I plan on adding another light in the middle.

Hey Asim is that ur real name??? I am bosnian and we have people named Asim in bosnia... i live in usa tho ;)

Same box as the 1st pick. Just some plywood covered with carpet.

I'll get the dimensions of the corner box tomorrow.

Thanks guys.

I've always been more of a fan of pairs of subs myself, but you're right, if done correctly one 12" will outplay a lot of stuff. I have a couple of Power Acoustik FUBR12s right now, but they're actually louder if I just connect one of them to my amp. They're hogs on power but I like them. They only take 1.0CF of box space, so I'm hoping I might be able to use the 40 side and leave the 60 open, but I'll see after I do some measuring. I'm thinking of doing something similar for the amp/cap though, looks nice and clean. Has anyone had any experience with having a pair of subs and facing them different directions? I thought it might be cool to have one facing back and one to the side, in order to make a box that will allow me access to my spare tire, and leave part of my trunk pass-through available. I know bass frequency sound waves are supposed to be non-directionally specific, but then why does it usually sound louder if you point your speaker towards the rear license plate? Any ideas anyone? FYI i'm going with a sealed box because I like the bass response better. I'll post plans when I figgure out what I'm doing.

How hard was it to place those tweeters?

The crossover box is 13' wide, 15.5 high, and 4' deep.

I'm sorry, I don't have specs for the sub box. Like I said, the box is standard 1.25 cub 12' box with side panels I've added.

The tweets were not that tough. I think that is the best spot. for them Just a small hole in that piece which worst comes to worst can be replaced cheap. Plus a nice location for sound imaging.
