I posted before about my factory subs not working. So on my lunch I took the whole unit out of my car( amp and speaker enclosure). I 1st wanted to see if in fact I had speakers in there and I do. They seem to be wired correctly and upon visual inspection did not notice anything that would say they are blown. My questions are 1. Even if they were blown wouldn't I be getting some sound? 2. How can I check if amp is bad? 3. Is there a seperate fuse for the amp? and last but not least how can I tell if I am getting power from the head unit to the amp? TIA!

so your not getting any power whatso ever to those subs in the back?
if they are blown, dependin on where they are blown, voice coil.. blabal.. sometimes they'll give off a hummin noise.. sometimes they'll hit a little then again sometimes they wont do a damn thing..
you need to get a volt meter, test your amp.. make sure its getting power.. i posted how to in that last thread.. otherwise take it in.. to a car audio shop if your a lil lost..
I'll help wht i can....

a lot of times you wont be able to press them down, or when you do you'll hear somethign rubbing .. like paper scratchin ... lol

Motts - I don't know if I am getting power or not. Should I be checking the speaker side of the amp to see if its putting out a signal? Or should I check the power wire from the head unit to see if power is getting to the amp? Sorry I am usually not this dumb.

Another dumb question - where do I find it?? There isn't one on the outside of the amp.

hmm... i honestly dont know.. they are usually on the otuside of the amp. i dont have the same setup as you.. wish i could help you more.. i would possibly check the fuse box... then again you may want to wait to someone else answers.. maybe lou or ken..

Lou/Ken you guys have any ideas?

I know AMPS usually have fuses in them. I've always been able to spot the and access the without having to tear the thing apart.....but it should be there....somewhere....
