plug gap question

what should the gap be for autolite platinum plugs. the book says .54 but I just wanna make sure.thanks

That's the stock gap.

so should I keep the gap at .54 or any different gap? I didn't know if a smaller or larger gap would give me better peformance or gas mileage

.54 is over 1/2 inch...

look on the sticker in the engine bay..

That's a "Lot" of gap..., the sticker say's .052-.056, and That seems like a lot, just did mine, the ones I pulled were only around .045, I didn't have a .054 gauge, so I set them at .050.

Autolite 764 copper's at .048. Search function is very helpful, especially with this subject.
