plug under steering wheeL?

There is a (i think) 14 prong female plug beneath the steering wheel slightly to the right. Is the the aux plug for the alpine 6 disc in dash? If not can someone tell me what its for? This is on a 2004 V8. Thanks. Im dying to get my Iriver MP3 playerto play in the car.

It's actually the ALDL (Assembly Line Data Link) connector. But as Chris says, it's used to access the vehicles many computer control functions by a NGS Star tester or similar.
