My continental is a 97 and has about 97k miles on it. The car seems to be idling a bit high. Sometimes in gear it will idle at 7-8 hundred, when in n or P it sometimes is 700 other times 1000. This is after the car is warmed up and has been running. Several times I've pulled in the driveway and the car is idling at 800 or 1000 in drive or park. If i'm not mistaken it was and should be more like 600 in gear and about the same in N or P. I ran seafoam through it, sprayed throttle body cleaner in the intake. Also replaced air filter, new pcv from autozone. City mileage is around 11-13. Also it does have everything before the filter housing removed. The silencer and box are gone. I also had the battery disconnected for several hours to reset the idle. Also there is a vibration that can be heard, a bit and felt quite often through the gas pedal, maybe the alternator, it is original.

Any ideas?

pull the codes.. most auto parts places will do it for free... that will tell a lot about whats going on. you can have codes stored without a check engine light lit
