Hey, was Johnny there?
Isnt there a law against FLAG BURNING?
These anarchist morons came there just to stir things up. According to a couple of blogs I found, they're known as the "Black Block", and consist of about a dozen hooded thugs doing anything they can to create turmoil. The organizers of the Portland protest had nothing to do with them and, in fact, told police to keep an eye on them.
I wouldn't be caught dead going to one these protests, but if I did, I'd be the first one to try and take a baseball bat to their fcuking skulls. Not only because I deplore their tactics, but also because they just add fuel to the fire for people like Fossten who giddily post these pictures as "proof" that everyone on the left hates America and the troops. I certainly don't believe that those idiots from the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas who protest soldiers' funerals represent all Christians.

Well, I think both sides have certain fringe elements that they aren't too proud to be associated with. I don't think I need to get into the groups that tend to ally with the right. It's just the way things are.Except for your use of the word "giddily," I think you make a good point. The counter to your point is that anarchists like these more closely ally themselves with the left than with the right. You'd never see these people show up to support a veteran's funeral, or to protest the silencing of free speech by preventing kids from praying in school.
The traditional Democrats in the mold of a JFK are no longer being represented by the party. The patriotic Democrats are being overshadowed. The party has left them.
"Patriotic Democrats"...isn't that an oxymoron?
