Scalia supports the right to burn the flag.

These anarchist morons came there just to stir things up. According to a couple of blogs I found, they're known as the "Black Block", and consist of about a dozen hooded thugs doing anything they can to create turmoil. The organizers of the Portland protest had nothing to do with them and, in fact, told police to keep an eye on them.

I wouldn't be caught dead going to one these protests, but if I did, I'd be the first one to try and take a baseball bat to their fcuking skulls. Not only because I deplore their tactics, but also because they just add fuel to the fire for people like Fossten who giddily post these pictures as "proof" that everyone on the left hates America and the troops. I certainly don't believe that those idiots from the Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas who protest soldiers' funerals represent all Christians.

While I agree that the [bad] few never equal the mass; it's falling on deaf ears in here...

The wannabe ninjas had me cracking up though; what clowns.

FYI: The Westboro Baptist's are actually rather liberal

Except for your use of the word "giddily," I think you make a good point. The counter to your point is that anarchists like these more closely ally themselves with the left than with the right. You'd never see these people show up to support a veteran's funeral, or to protest the silencing of free speech by preventing kids from praying in school.

Well, I think both sides have certain fringe elements that they aren't too proud to be associated with. I don't think I need to get into the groups that tend to ally with the right. It's just the way things are.

Tommy, you're comments are worth note, but they sound like they are being made by a person who has never seen one of these mass rallies in person before.

These rallies are DOMINATED by American hating fools. Clearly, some are more violent and radical than others, burning soldiers in effigy is an extreme move, but the MAJORITY of the people at these rallies are more radical than you think. And in addition to protesting the war, they are protesting against capitalism and America.

And it underscores the argument many of us conservatives made through the elections- THE LEFT IS BEING HIJACKED BY THESE PEOPLE. That IS the face of DemocratUnderground. That IS the face of DailyKos. Moveon.org. George Sorros and the groups he finances. And they are the emerging power in the Democrat power. The foot soldiers campaigning, running the websites, going door-to-door.

The traditional Democrats in the mold of a JFK are no longer being represented by the party. The patriotic Democrats are being overshadowed. The party has left them.

And going into the never-ending '08 campaign season, you'll see the Democrat candidates pander to those very lunatics in order to win the nomination.

I know that Tommy B or Deville might not be on the same page as me politically, but they have nothing in common with those nightmares causing trouble in their angry protests (that the media seems to always misreport, over inflating the number of attending) who are emerging as the FACE of the Democrat party.

As for fringe groups that align with the right? I can think of none that are embraced by the RNC. Unfortunately, on the left, these fringe groups are considered the "base."

"Patriotic Democrats"...isn't that an oxymoron?

Why not, TommyB? You mock me because I go to the trouble to expose a left wing radical anti-America group. Show me a right-wing radical anti-America group.

You won't get into it because you can't. There aren't right-wing groups that do such appalling, disgusting things. It's just the way things are.
