I noticed the other day that MSD Ignitions has announced a Coil ON Plug Pak for the GM V-8's. I wrote to them and asked if they were going to bring one to market for Ford V-8's and their answer was that it is something they were looking at, but there were no immediate plans for the release. They indicated that they have received several (?) requests and that is what prompted their looking at the possibilities. I have used MSD products for years and would welcome the ability to put 8 MSD COP's on my LSE. Perhaps if enough interest is shown, it will influence their decision.

Hey I just bought an 04 LSE and I noticed that you have the KKM and the xcal2. How is that working out? I think we might have spoken about the programming in the past. Are you getting yurs from canada?

Also, have you guys tooled with the throttle by wire?

Actually I think I am the only one on here that has purchased the SCT XCal2 from Canada. I got it from Steeda, but you have to go thru there Canadian branch for some reason. (I didnt ask!) HAHA

Call 1-800-STEEDA7 and ask for Paul!

I'd be happy to give them a shout. Do you have their number or email I can hit?

First I have become used to the throttle by wire. Perhaps the tunes I use on the Xcal2 help out on that. I do know that Torrie at Ford Parts Network http://www.fordpartsnetwork.com/ , went to a lot of trouble to get my tunes the way I wanted them. I did not have a dyno run to prove improvements, but after more than 50 years of hot rodding around, I think that I can tell if the car runs better after a mod. My seat of the pants analysis says both the KKM and the Xcal2 with Torrie's tunes had a positive impact on torque and HP. If I had to guess I would say that the KKM impacted mid range torque and High end HP. The Xcal2 impacts driveability from shifting to plain old oomph. One note: The tunes I have do not eliminate the neutral 3000 RPM limit as that is the way I wanted it tuned. If you really need to be able to dump into gear at RPM above 3000 RPM then you would have to specify that modification to the tunes. I can't speak highly enough about Torrie as he is very well informed about our LS's.

what is your satisfaction level with the xcal 2 on you 04 LSE?

I know Scott has been very happy with it.

On a scale of 1-10 I would be a nine. The only reason it is not 10 is that SCT has not issued the firmware to let the Xcal2 do all the things listed on their web site. Until they issue the new firmware all changes have to be programed by using Extreme Tune software or by your dealer.

That is good to hear. I have been following the updates on their website. Seems some customers are doing some beta testing and everyone else is eager as hell to get the updates.

I will wait till the finish everyting up before I buy it. I am glad to hear about the positive result though.

I will call MSD and give them my Matt Foley Motivational Speaker rant on why they need to manufacture CoPs for Lincolns.

Hey I was at Gator Nationals and I spoke to the MSD REP and HE told me that they were working on it but with the ford's they are having a ground problem (sometimes) but because these set-back they would be releasing them in the not so near future?!?! But he said to keep my eye's open around SEMA TIME (I will be there again this year hopefully)wich is in NOV.... so hopefully we will be getting lucky too

Thats cool well I would be heavily interested in one of MSD cop units for the LS, I have a few friends who threw them on there cars and where overall impressed. Maybe I should email them and make a request for one. Keep us posted GWL and SilverLS!
