I am considering this STS. I can figure out the year. I believe it is a 96 or 97. The owner originially wanted $2500 for it. It gets hot, so I believe it has a bad head gasket. It hasn't been driven for a year. Now he is moving. The owner has moved on to another car, and I don't think he wants to drag this car with him. I am thinking much less than $2500. What do you think?

I looked at a better condition 98 STS 2 years ago with a blown rear gasket. That was 2500 also.

Not worth it, in my opinion. But, you could research how much it would be to fix. (quite alot, probably)

GMAN welcome back.. thought you might have been blown away by the hurricane.

So No more Marks? You are going to have a lot of oil spots on the drive way from that Caddy LOL...

Hey Rich, I was never gone very far. :D. Right now I am Markless. The Marks will always be near and dear to my heart. If I can get this Caddy though, I plant to overhaul it with a newer motor.

Yeah, 500 would be very reasonable and do as you say, pick up a newer / better engine.

Mileage?

500 would be an insult to me. It's a nice car that could use a hg. I'd say start haggeling at 1250 and give no more than 1750. If he's moving than more power to ya.

Why are we presumming its a hg? is it a common failer on the northstars? Coolant in oil,oil in coolant?

Yea, it's a HG. The car has sat for more than 8 months. The owner has clearly moved on from it buying a brand new Dodge Charger. I don't know the mileage though.
