Hello, I've lurked for a while here but decided to join today. I apologize for not going to the new member/introduction area but a problem arose this morning and I decided to ask the knowledgable members here about this problem. :V
Anyways, heres the problem and some background as quick as possible. I have a 1994 Lincoln Town Car Executive series and today after getting to work I went to put up the drivers side window. Well, it got about halfway up and then stopped; nothing, no noise, smoke or anything. Goes down fine, but won't go up. Day went on and luckily it didn't rain or any theives got to it or small animals made my car a home. Now I'm home and have the door apart, but there is one screw that is above the door handle inside that I can't get too. So, I decide to take a look at the switch block that controls the windows and window lock and that seems to be fine, no frayed or burnt wires and all the connections are good. I popped the other one off the passenger door to try and swap'em to see if its the switch but for whatever reason Ford decided the passenger door power window switch will be totally different. Now, I'm sitting here with the door half off and can't get to that screw and the sun's going down fast, what would be some recommendations? If I was in the States I'd drive it right to the dealer but since I'm in England that's not really a option(BTW I'm Military). Thanks for reading this and I hope sombody can shed some light on this! Thanks again!
