Ok my LS just went over 70,000 miles, anything that i should be changing. i bought the car with 60,000 and i will presume that no preventative maintenance has been done to the car, so should i be considering changing spark plugs or anything yet?? Tranny fluid?? Oh another question a friend of mine is a reseller for amsoil and royal purple sythetics. I told him i am considering changing the tranny fluid to synthetic hoping it will keep the tranny running cooler and better protection giving me a longer tranny life. I should run into any problems going from regular oil to synthetic in the tranny will I?? Its a 2000 v8 sport

Definitely do a Tranny Service... New Plugs... Filters... Get the upgraded Mass Air and let the car breathe like it should... Put Synths in, they are better and ought to help.

Get the work done... Your car will love you for it by not dumping on ya!

Where do you get the upgraded mass air sensor and how much is it. I have the 2001 ls8. I may not need it but if I do any info would be appreciated.

As far as the MAF I do not know of any upgrades other than possibly using the MAF from the 02 model. It was somehting I read on LLSOC a few years back and do not know that reasoning behind it.

I would just do a tune up and consider replacing the coils while you are at it. You might find yourself doing it after the tune up any way.

we have not been able to push past what the stock MAF can handle.

with that said - I am running a Granatelli MAF with a 'cold air tune' - I got it off e-bay cheap a couple of years ago. I am running a little rich.'

As far as trans fluid, the LS calls for Mercron V that's already a synthetic oil. So if you use Royal Purple or Amsoil that will be fine. Both from what I'm told are very good products. I use Mobile products.

OK Quik one of these days I expect you will post that you have a 30mm chain gun, retractable missle rails and chaff. Oh and ejection seats. All self fabricated of course. :)

nah - I am the WRONG personality behind the wheel to have access to guns at the same time... give the highway an enema on the way to work.... :gr_devil:

basically I just posted that I spent money on a cool MAF and probably did need it...

Yeah I do not think I could be trusted either. I have considered fabricating a concealled paintball gun in the nose of the car.
