Problem With A 99

Hi,

I just bought a 99 deville and i'm having a little problem with it.

This has happend twice.

I'M DRICING AT LOW SPEED AND SUDDENLY IT TURNS THE OIL LIGH ON AND THE CAR TURNS OFF. IMMEDIATELY I TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND IT DRIVES NORMAL NO PROBLEMS.

Oil pressure or oil level light?

it's the lights that comes on but i think the car turns off and thats why the light comes on.

i'm wondering if it could e a problem with the transmition (Torque Converter Clutch) that is not downshifting and thats why the car turns off.

i know your problem.

You have to replace the EGR valve.

Took it into the Cadillac Specialists and they got the problem to actually happen while it was hooked up to the computer.

It hasn't happened since.

I have no idea what an EGR Valve is, but could this at all make the Check Engine Light come on? My light keeps coming on, and the mechanics say its something with the transmission, but their diagnostic tools can not find exactly what the problem is, and they say they have to go into the transmission. My car has had the similiar problem of turning off at low speeds, and starting right back up as if there was no problem.
