Hi, I just brought my 1st car a 06 Lincoln LS two days ago with 72k miles. Last night I discovered the car was developing problems. Had the car on, but didn't start the engine. I was configuring the of the stereo to set up my music & suddenly the I notice the stereo suddenly went out. From that section only did all the lights went out, then I look at head unit too see if there was any problems & a bunch of status lights started flashing. I took the keys out & put them back in & tired to start the engine.. nothing! I notice only the airbag light remained, I did some research & nobody had my exact problem. A little after that my ac unit went off & I was tired so I thought i'll look into more tomorrow. As I was getting out the car & use my fob to lock the doors it wouldn't respond to my press. I tried a few more times & tried to hit the unlock button the car didn't respond to it well. I notice when pressing the button the lights on the ceiling of the car would flash about 2 times & go out & flash again suddenly. So I locked all the doors manually & i'll try again the next day. Today I came back to check on the car & the problem seem to have gotten worst. Now 99% of the car wouldn't respond. The adjustable steering wheel & seats, mileage counter, the beeps when you insert your keys, window & lock controls, nothing really only the air bag light & ceiling light would work. I am more of a computer guy, & new to cars but i'm trying to learn. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated, thanks!!

Seriously? There are bunches and bunches of threads about this. You ran your battery down. When the engine is off, you should always turn the key to the accessory position, not the run position. (In the accessory position, the radio is on, but the climate control and most everything else is off.) It is also very likely that you need to replace your battery now. It may have been due for replacement anyhow. Do note that if your battery is weak and you don't replace it, you may kill your alternator.

Also, note that the battery is special in that it has a vent tube connection that must be connected to the vent hose that runs out of the car. Otherwise it is a safety hazard, and it will cause corrosion to the electrical parts in the trunk.

Sorry, I thought there was more to it, because of the airbag light. I kinda was thinking maybe the battery but I had the impression the airbag light disables a bunch of functions.

No. When the SRS light is on, it means that some or all of the SRS system won't function (airbags, seat belt tensioners, event recorder) It does not stop anything else.
