I got a data distance problem, some time my MPH does not work, ant the OD is ---------. any help would be grate

The problem is your abs/tc pump. All data is gathered from your wheel sensor, funneled through the abs and sent to the computer. First try cleaning the connections at the abs pump. It is in the front wheel well under the battery. Have you had it checked for codes? If I remember correctly the typical autozone code reader won't read the abs, you have to go to lincoln for that. Is your abs/tc light on? Mine said "distance data error" in the message center. It began with "check traction control" in the MC at about 10 mph and the abs light came on. I unpluged the connector (it was badly corroded) and cleaned it. After cleaning what was left I got the distance data error. I had to replace the pump assembly. They are not available rebuilt, new (discontinued) was 2000.00, junkyard 150.00. Remember, the abs pump has a special way to be blead to eliminate air. Standard bleeding won't work.

How does one get to the pump? (Gen 2)

that would do It gog you guys are grate, RF ABS sencer is gown to sh!t
funny thing thoe I asked a buddy of mine out in AZ and this is all his email sead to me
"nothing beats beating the :q:q:q:q out of canadians while drinking/smoking/visiting their hometown. :q:q:q:q'n canuts."
WTF IS WITH THAT
(Im also not canadian)

Yes, 97 is gen 2. Pump is in driver side wheel well. Remove tire and fender liner. Pump is located forward of the wheel. Just look for all the brake lines converging on a block of aluminum. The pump has to be cycled while bleeding to get air out of all passages. There are posts about it. BTW dertyclown, did your last reply contain any english?

I have this same problem on my '97 Continental, am I correct in assuming this is the same problem. I posted the question in the Continental section but I have a feeling I will never get a response.

Also are the ABS/TC pumps interchangeable between the Marks and the Continentals?
