Does anyone think the airlines or TOS should profile the people before boarding?

My answer is hell yes. If your skin ain't white or you don't look like a black American or you have some goofy sounding name, yes, you should be triple checked.

If you look like you come from one of those other countries, you should be triple checked but if you're 50 and above and obviously not getting on the plane to blow it up, then leave them alone.

They bring up Timothy McVeigh being white and doing what he done but he didn't include himself in that bombing. Yes, he did blow up something and killed a lot of people but he wasn't a suicide bomber.

Increased profiling should be done and if they don't like it, then don't fly. I know if I was flying somewhere and I saw anyone on my flight that appeared to be from one of those other countries, especially 3 or more, I'm off that plane before it goes anywhere. Money wasted or not, I'm not staying on the plane. I would be profiling everyone on a flight that I was on.

You won't find much disagreement here. Unfortunately, our government has seen fit to paralyze itself with political correctness. We're doomed unless it changes.

Hey, I more inclined to check everyone. Because if you put a black face on this you are only asking for trouble. Don't forget you also have some white people who are musliums from Turkey, and what about Asian muslum. I think that if anyone flying from Europe, Asia or whatever to the US should be checked a padded down and come thru one hub to be checked.

Then they'll just fly in to Canada or Mexico and enter from there.

So, based upon what you said, do you stop this guy:

I agree that we need profiling and screening, but it's not something that can be done visually.

No, I think some took me the wrong way when I mentioned black. When I say that, I mean black people with the names you can't pronounce. If I can't say their name correctly, they should be checked.

Now, as for pictures, the below pics are the types that should be looked at and again, the names associated with these people.

None of the names above or any of the like should be aloud on any plane coming into the US, period.

I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea about me and taking me as a racist because I am far from that. My best friend for nearly 15 years straight is black and he's the only true friend I have that I can count on and he knows he can count on me.

The whole profiling thing is simple. If you look like or have a name that does not belong, you don't fly or if you do, you get the :q:q:q:q harassed out of you to the point of making them not want to fly. I think we would do just fine without any of them people here in the US because most likely, they are up to no good anyway.

With the name Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, yes sir. He should be put through hell before being allowed onto any plane coming into the US. If they wanna fly around in Nigeria or Yemen or even go over and hit the new 2700 ft. tall building in Dubai, then go for it but they should be kept away from here. They have no reason to be here. He had no reason to be here. His only reason was to blow up a plane and then there would have been a Christmas day terror story. I don't care if his daddy owns the largest Nigerian bank or not, he should still be treated as a war criminal.

Its all in how you present it, if I approach you and you say "Sir, you have been randomly selected to undergo additional screening" I am ALMOST sure most people will say ok, on the other hand, if I approach you, and you look at my ID, and then say step to the right, we have to search you, I am going to question the hell out of you and your supervisor, and if your answers don't satisfy me, I will take it up higher.

You could take it up higher but you would still be searched further and I highly doubt you would have any lawsuit against TSA for practicing higher security to "make sure" others are safe.

The imams that sued the airline were chanting in Arabic and demanding extra long seatbelts. They were booted off the plane.

Lawsuits for discrimination will cripple our ability to screen for terrorists.

Check everyone, it doesn't matter what color you are because they could change their names and be all they can be. Also, all airlines should establish security hubs for all flight entering the US. This will stop jumping for airport to airport like this last episode and getting off and then getting on a plane to the US. Screen, screen screen. It going to take more time to fly but safety is the goal.
