Programing Keyless

What year is your LS?
Gen II - No, you can do it yourself.
Gen I - I'm not positive, but I think the dealer has to do it.

I heard you can do it yourself with a Gen2. I have a Gen 1 and took it and the FOB I bought off ebay to the dealer and they programmed it for free.

yeah i have the same question. i have an 04. just bought it about a month ago. i know how to repgrogram it if i had the original code, but i don't have any idea what it is...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you asking how to add a new five digit code to the door keypad, or are you asking how to add a new remote fob to the car?

Either is answered in the owner's manual. If you don't have an owner's manual, you can download one for free from Lincoln's website. You just have to register as the owner of your LS.

i bought one for my 02 LS and the only way i could do it is through the dealership, cause i guess they have to hook it up to a computer .

Yeah I bought a keyless pad for my 02 and was told the dealer had to do it.

Screw that.

I used it on my 06 F150 instead, easy to program took a few minutes once I figured it out.

Yes, for 2000 - 2002 that is true. For 2003 - 2006 you can do it yourself.

mode has been activated.

KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM
You can use the keyless entry
keypad to:
• lock or unlock the doors without
using a key.
• open the trunk.
• recall memory seat/mirrors/steering column/adjustable pedals positions
1 or 2.
The keypad can be operated with the factory set 5–digit entry code; this
code is located on the owner’s wallet card in the glove box, is marked on
the computer module, and is available from your authorized dealer. You
can also create your own 5–digit personal entry code.
When pressing the controls on the keypad, press the middle of the
controls to ensure a good activation.
Programming a personal entry code
To create your own personal entry code:
1. Enter the factory set code.
2. Within five seconds press the 1 • 2 on the keypad.
3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered
within five seconds of each other.
4. Enter a sixth digit to indicate which personality feature should be
recalled by the personal code. Note: The lock motors will cycle, locked
then unlocked.
• 1 • 2 recalls driver personality 1.
• 3 • 4 recalls driver personality 2.
• 9 • 0 does not recall a driver personality.
Wait 5 seconds without pressing a keypad button in order to store a
personal entry code.
Tips:
• Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.
• Do not use five numbers in sequential order.
• The factory set code will work even if you have set your own personal
code.
• If you set a personal code and store it over an existing personal code
it will erase that personal code only.
Erasing personal codes
1. Enter the factory set 5–digit code. The keyless entry keypad and
interior lights will illuminate and the driver’s door will unlock.
2. Press and release the 1 • 2 within five seconds of completing Step 1.
3. Press and hold the 1 • 2 for two seconds to erase the customer
programmed codes.
All personal codes are now erased and only the factory set 5–digit code
will work.
Note: To exit programming mode, either wait 5 seconds after pressing 1
• 2 on the keypad, or press the 7 • 8 and 9 • 0 pads simultaneously to
lock all vehicle doors and end programming mode.
