I figured I would share some info on a new project that I am starting. Its called Black Sheep because it doesnt really fit in well with my current fleet of vehicles. The reason it doesnt fit is becase it isnt from the FoMoCo brand but is still from Detroit. I picked her up for $800 and she needs some work on the engine but the body is in overall good condition for the age... and now the pic:

its an 86 half ton rolling on 38s. it has a 350 in it with a turbo 350 behind it. the bed is in great condition. Just figured I would share and get your guys opinions plus I will post more pics when I get her home this weekend and in the garage.

lol she was cheap and I like that style of chebby... figured if nothing else i could fix her up a little bit and resell it and get some money out of her.

im hoping to get a 77 GMC 3/4 ton camper special but it needs a lot of body work (its Brandi's Grandpa's truck, ordered the way he wanted it to be when he worked for GM)

I figured this is a good start and then I could have my own old chebby...

I wasn't gonna post nothin' about you getting stuck after you sent me that text.

But come on, fess up. You had to unload it and use the chebby to pull you out, didn't you.

Admiiiiiiiiiit iiiiiiiiiiit!

Oh, and a humble suggestion? Never tie down a vehicle to its frame. Always tie it down via suspension parts or tires. You want the vehicle to "float" when you hit bumps and potholes.

couldnt get the chebby to run... the truck was tied down by the axles so the body could float when i hit the bumps... but thanks

Fastest On Race Day

The only thing that's good for is to sell it and use the money to buy a FORD. :) (My '63 F-100 ICB Shortbed is still going strong with 300K+)

You don't need it to run. Just the glorious presence of the Chebby was enough to move it around. LMAO.

As far as the straps. One of the pictures, it looks like you have a strap going up to the frame. Not my fault you can't take properly focused pictures. :p Not that I can either, but...

And for the record, I think Chevrolet (and GM in general) is two steps below junk, nowadays.

nowadays i can agree with that but these trucks are still pretty good trucks... and the price taht I paid for it I cant buy a Ford in the shape that this is in... at least not around my area...

and the strap looks like it goes to the frame because the axle sits off the ground quite a ways... :p

for chevy trucks i like the body of the 76-79 a lil better but they are gettin hard to find

Not here in California haha. I have a 79 myself. In fact I'd say I've seen 3X more of the '73-79 Chevy trucks than Mark VIIIs in the city I live in.

Awesome pick up. I bought a camo 85 chevy, in way worse shape than that, for 750 last fall.

it didnt run when i bought it but I since got it running and got to drive it down the road... pretty excited to get it all put back together and make it look like a truck again...

i love my marks but when it comes to trucks i am a chevy guy through and through

Gosh - I am just the opposite - Love Caddies - but when it comes to trucks, nothing beats a Ford. ;)

Great looking project - fix it up and sell it - you should be able to do OK if you don't sink a lot into the drive train or suspension (looks sell)....

i already got it running and could definitely sell it for a profit but for now its going to be a fun little truck to have around to go off roading in and soemthing for me to tinker with on the weekends putting it back together. it will never replace my PSD but i didnt buy this for the same reasons i bought the PSD. Hell this is the first Chevy I have ever owned. Its not costing me anything to keep it right now since I have the space. Here is a pic i took of it last night right before dark...
