I had my '02 V6 for a year now and it has 87k miles so i decided on an upgrade. I purchased a 2005 V8 Ultimate. I am not sure what all makes an "ultimate" but the salesman sure mentioned it like 100 times. But its Black on Black, all options but Nav. I feel as though i need to speak that so far the difference in driving between the V6 and V8 hasnt really been much. Yes yes...its got more power but its not like whoaaaaaa. But i am happy nontheless. One HUGE issue that is annoying me is the rearview mirror bounces up and down alot. Its like i have a dozen 12's firing in the trunk. I'll get some pictures tonight.

Congrats! I too am a 2nd time buyer. The first one was an '02 Black/Tan V8 Sport. Now, my Red/Tan one is an '06 V8 Sport. It's freakin' awesome. Do you have red tail lights or the red/clear ones?

The difference in the V8 comes with time...over time you will begin to notice and appreciate the additional torque, smoothness, and effortlessness of the added displacement and power

Congradulations man.

Does it have a sunroof. I noticed that about half of the new LSs at the dealers don't have sunroofs. Well, I guess yours has it as it's the "Ultimate"x100.

How many miles by the way?

I guess its rare but my car came with the original lincoln window sticker. The Ultimate adds: 17" 8-spoke chrome wheels, body color bumpers, audiophile cd6, Walnut burl accents, wood steering & shift knob, power moonroof, keyless door keypad, rear head restraints, advance trac, sst, side curtain airbag, heated/cooled front, heated rear seats, HID headlamps, rear parking assist. Total sticker msrp $45,950. I paid $21,276.

Damn man, that's a fully loaded car. Real nice, how many miles again?

My wife is in Chicago till friday and has our digital camera, have to wait to post pictures. With my second day now in the newer V8 i have noticed some things. The amount of rpm's compared to the V6 is crazy. The V6 would move but you have to really hammer the pedal and push 6500 rpm to get moving. With the V8, at 70 mph its turning at 2300 rpm....accelerating to 90 only raises it to 3000 rpm. Its not that its much faster but much much more effortless. The V8 also drives more like a tank than the V6. The quality difference is huge between my base '02 V6 and the newer '05 V8 Ultimate....express up/down windows, moving armrest, cooled seats, better speedo, better seats, the HID's are insane. I love when you turn them on there's like a split second delay where they kinda intensify. I am also learning to appreciate the rear park sensors. Awesome car.
