Getting a maaco job done and doing the prep myself. How do I get the chrome trim around the windows off without bending or breaking it?

Around the windows is a biotch... gotta pull the door panels, glass and a whole bunch of other :q:q:q:q...

The stainless trim is attached to the 1/4 glasses... you have to pull the entire glass... very easy...

give me your # and I'll give you a call when i get to doing it some evening soon. Wouldn't want you to write out the instructions. :p

there's chrome trims on our back windows????

Must be blind. "Chrome trims" never was said. Chrome trim around the back windows (meaning the side windows on the back side) and KK is right, the entire window has to come out. The chrome trim on the door pops off but yes, masking tape is used daily for painting cars. I wouldn't take a window out when it can be carefully taped off.

Even a 'good' maaco job that you pay about $2000 for is a :q:q:q:q paint job that you'll regret in 3 years.

Learned that lesson, after 3 years and $3000 - I had a great paint job.
