From what I recall can I do this by bridging pin 5 and 6 using a paper clip or is that only for GM. Once in a while I get a check engine light but it does not stay on. Car performs normal and gas mileage has not been degrading. I am not sure what to think. Also does anyone know how to retrieve ABS codes?

you can buy a Ford ODB-I code reader at WalMart for around 30 dollars that will pull all the codes you need.

code reader is best option. there are 2 pins you can connect to get codes, but don't remember which ones right now. Best bet, get code reader.

Autozone and like places usually only scan OBD-II cars.
