I have been having some issues with my front passenger side and saw that the nylon lock nut had backed off. I tighten it back up but obviously since lock nuts are one time use it just keeps back off. So i need to replace the lock nut and ordered some but even though it was 14mm the thread count was wrong. So what is the thread count for the 14mm ball joints? The ones I tried to use were 14mm-1.5

Your ball joint is most likely frozen inside and whenever you steer the car, it is so bound up inside that it can undo a locking nut that is set to 111 lb ft (from memory) .. I was amazed that mine did that, and it was on Mevotech ball joints that were less than 6 months old! I was able to use a needle grease gun tip to inject fresh grease into the failed ball joint to buy me a little time, but I could torque the nut down and drive 95 miles on the highway at speed and it would be already backed off when I ended the trip. Amazing amount of power needed to do that, so you should get that ball joint checked, those nuts do not back themselves off easily.

Besides being torqued to proper spec... all ball joints threads should have Loc-tite applied to them... before torquing the nut.

Green or orange if they need to come apart again. Red if you never want them to come apart again.

Never use blue on ball joints. It's not strong enough to prevent the nut from unscrewing.
