I want to give my '01 LS interior a more modern car look by maybe getting a LCD dvd/gps/etc/etc 6" display CD deck.

I'm researching products, but I haven't done any research to what goes into installing it in an LS.

1) The deck above the ac/heat comes up at an angle on the sides, is this anything unique? Will a capable installer be able to make it fit and look good?

2) Is it too much to ask to continue using the 6-disc changer in the glove box, as well as the volume buttons on the steering wheel? Or will a common installer balk at the request?

Any help would be appreciated.

and OP yes, follow LOUDS link to the search,,,,there is ALOT of info on this topic. Including a few threads started by me when i had my own troubles,,,and it sounds like ur goin for the xact setup i had. MINUS i dont konw why u wanna keep the 6 disc changer in the glove box....who uses cd's these days?? and if ur dropping the 600+ on a deck + professional instal. GO out and pick up an IPOD, i was never a fan of apple...but dam does it beat diggin through that huge ass book of cds while driving down the road.
(i installed my deck myself for the cost of about 10hrs PITA and a few dollars at the local hardware store for shrink tubing) THERE are write ups to help u in this process too!!!

now that my shop has switched over from the PAC to the metra modules (which can be found through my link)
and i have installed a few, i really like them. they both preform the same, but the metra installs so much easier, the wiring is pretty much the exact same, but the unit programs itself, which for a lot of people, is half the work.

also for anyone wondering, kiss the changer good bye.
