Hey guys, I put a chip in my 93 Mark and its been a few weeks. When I go to check the codes I'm now getting I believe it was a code 511 and another code for the egr volts out of range. The egr I thought was supposed to be shut off with the installation of the chip. Will it still throw the code for it even after the chip is installed? Also I have no idea what this code 511 is now. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I don't get into modding so don't quote me on this but I was under the impression that who ever tuned / burned the chip would be the one to also delete the EGR but I could be wrong.

IDK

Working the google on the internet machine will find your code.

The EGR is never turned off in a can tune unless it was specified.

When I bought the chip I had asked for the IMRC and the EGR to be deleted. Not sure about the IMRC but the EGR is still throwing me a code. If its still throwing me a code does that mean it was never taken offline?

The round vac solenoid that used to control the EGR needs to still be on the car and plugged in. Don't need the vac lines hooked to it or need to have the EGR valve but that solenoid has to still be there for the computers auto diagnostics to work. If it ain't there then the computer is telling you its not there. When the EGR is tuned out all the computer is doing is not triggering it but it still expects to see it in its circuitry.

Oh ok. That makes a little more sense. So its just looking for the diff. pres. feedback sensor then.

Nope. Its looking for the controll solenoid that sits on the drivers head net to the IMRC controller.

i have a egr voltage code on mine too, also had the egr turned off in the tune. on the other code, its a pcm error, it will always be there because of the chip.

Oh, okie doke. Just wanted to make sure that the chip is calibrated the way that I had asked. Thanks for the input.

On another note. Do they make stand alones for the gen 1? If so what could one expect to pay for one?
