Had a problem with LS, no CEL, all gauges normal and car was lacking power/acceleration. It doesn't feel like a misfire/plug/coil. Car still idles smooth, starts easy, good milage. Thought it was fuel filter . . . replaced thought problem was gone and now appears to be back. I don't notice there is a problem unless on highway or accelerating hard.
Those who have had tranny problems please reply with what car was doing and solution to issue.

Uh, nobody can help you if you don't tell us about your car! Engine, trans, color, mileage, did you buy new or used, lambo doors, etc. You know the drill.

I am speaking from a lack of knowledge here, but wouldn't there be more than one fuel filter? Could it be the one you didn't change? Just brain-storming, timing, fuel injectors, bad gas, spark, all come to mind.

2000 LS V8 Premium automatic 67k black all stock.
-Fuel filter fuse? Won't I get a CEL, I have never heard of such a thing.
-Have gone through at least 4-5 tanks of gas from multiple stations. Have also used fuel injector cleaner in at least 2 of those tanks.
-If there is a second filter where is it located? I changed the one in the wheel well.
I wish the thing had the CEL on then I would at least no where to look. Could it be tranny related maybe?

There is screen in the tank, you might have gotten something in the tank and it could partioally block the fuel pump.....

You said you replaced the fuel filter and thought the issues was resolved. Was it for a short time or was it still there? Reason is you might have clogged it again.. just replace it untill all the contaminants(sp) have gone.

Another thought and this will require addition understanding, the fuel pump might be on its way out. Just a thought.

Ya, it was only like 3 days of better driving. Now that I'm thinking about it . . . Maybe maybe cause of the rain? It has been raining everytime it happens. That doesn't make too much sense to me.
So, you would say to replace the sending unit in the tank? The sending unit has that metal filter your talking about attached to the pick-up tube.
I'm thinking its electrical now, possibly coil/plug or tranny switch.

Neither have I.

The gas tank for the LS is under the rear seats and forms a saddle over the driveshaft. There's a special pump that keeps the fuel levels between the two portions of the saddle at about the same level. Perhaps that pump is giving out. The gas cap would also throw a CEL.

when ever it is wet outside my car doesent have its full power eather.... its bothering me, like if i flor it from 60 it is just not as fast as when it is dry, maybe ur having the same problem??? i think it might have something to do with the tires?

I have found the problem . . . oil is fouling the plugs on the drivers side!!! It is not a bad leak that is why I think it was coming and going (not consistent). Who ever was the last hack to be under the hood for service wasn't very smart. No anti-seize on the plugs . . . I thought the oneswith oil in the wells were neva gonna come out. Some bolts were way way too tight others were just finger tight.
Long story short . . . its time to do the valve covers again!!! This time I'm gonna do them . . . if you want something done right don't take it to a dealership!
(The tranny switch) It is an MLPS switch, they have been known to cause issues.

I'm not sure you've found your problem. But at least you found one that needs to be addressed.

If you still have issues, get a fuel pressure gauge and attach it to the test port. Tape the gauge to your windshield and watch what your pressures do when the problem pops up.

That sounds like a good idea, but the problem only occurs under hard throttle or at highway speeds. I don't think it is an injector, I am pretty sure it is one or more of the coils on their way out. I just wish it was throwing a code so I can figure out which coil it is. I'm gonna end up just replacing them all.
