This Has Happened A Couple Of Times To Me. Im Driving Normal And A Beap (like The Low Fuel Warning Beap) And Something Flashes Across The Screen. I Saw What It Said This Time It Said Something About The Gear Selector. I Had It At The Dealer And They Said They Scanned It And No Codes Were Found.

Anyone Ran In To This Before And If So What Part Was Replaced.

the beep s notorious, it happens for no reason, or at least weve never found out why it beeps. as far as the gear thing, that sounds new. never heard of it

I've had my LSE for 4 months now and had the mystery beep a couple times. I too didn't notice any display changes.

It Only Says It For A Split Second. I Only Noticed It The Last Time It Happened
Watch For It Next Time And I Bet It Will Say Something

yes, do a search for "beep" instead of "beap" and you'll find lots of info on this.

Ah, you've encountered the elusive Greater North American Mystery Beep. I've never encountered it myself, but it's the stuff of legend in the LS owner community.

The most credible explanation of it that I've heard is that it's caused by an intermittent communications error that is resolved before the error message is displayed.

My car did the beep from nowhere last night. I was slowing to a stop light and wasn't doing anything in particular. Did happen to be looking down thou, and the message display and shifter indicator definately flickered together, but I couldn't see what. This is the first time I seen that.

I've only caught what mine says once. It flashed an -E- on the shifter display. I've never seen what it says on the message center, though.

It's harmless though, right? I've been beeped about a dozen or so times in the past 3 years, seen the flash a time or two, but have not seen any ill effects. They don't seem to get more frequent with age.

It is an extremely short disruption between the PCM and the transmission computer. It is nothing more than a minor annoyance. There not only isn't a fix, there is none in the works.

NO big deal

I believe it's just a low washer fluid that beeps but doesn't show for some reason. Since this always happened to me when slowing to a stop or turn, I was curious to check the fuild level the last few times this happened and it was low. The only time it stayed on was when I let it get intentionally low to make sure it stayed on, and it did. So, I wouldn't worry about it.
