I am assuming that it's my bags as my 93 Mark VIII was playing low rider yesterday when I saw it bottomed out.

But a few quick questions or check before I just jump in and order parts.

Check Air Ride message was popping up this winter. I could switch off the system and bags would stay up. Occasionally I would turn the system back on to adjust the level (maybe once a week). I had thought that maybe there was too much moisture in the compressor and she would freeze up or it was getting plugged this winter and the system was just a little confused with the weather LOL.

This spring the Check Air Ride message didn't come on until a few weeks ago.

Bags would stay up. Then there was yesterday morning when I came out and they were down. Not bottomed out but down. I was going to pump them up and turn off the system to see if they would stay up. Well they didn't go up but went totally flat.

They will not pump up at all. Compressor runs but no inflation of the bags.

This is only happening in the fronts not the rears the rears are getting air and at times seem to be getting a little too much!

On my Mark VII before I replaced my bags my bags would always pump back up but would go flat when sitting.

With my friends Mark VIII the bags will still pump up but go flat when sitting.

I just want to make sure it is the bags before I go ordering parts.

Is there a way to check the sensors?

Bump for you Rich. PM BlackiceLSC, he will be able to answer what is happening in depth.

Keep in mind that the air struts maybe leaking more air than the compressor can replace and/or the compressor has been damaged from a leak(s) or from moisture.

If I were you, my goal would be to get the car up one last time for a leak test. Try to raise the car a little to get the fold of the rubber in a different area. Do this by using a floor jack and jacking the car up in the front. Don't go up too high, but just under normal height. Turn the key on then and see if thats enough to help the compressor lift the front of the car up to normal height, then do the leak test.

"IF" you can ever get it up, perform a leak test shown here: http://www.americanairsuspension.com/MARK VIII LEAK TEST.htm

Let me know what you come up with.

If you need bags, I will sell you mine cheap. They are only 3 yrs old and in great shape, like new, and I don't need them anymore.

Thanks all,

Working on the air bags today to see if I can pump them up one last time.

I am thinking about a spring conversion. So thanks fossten for the offer on your air bags.

Eddie, I know you are a wherehouse of knowledge when it comes to the Lincoln air ride system. You come highly recommended by many members and others I have talked too. I have one of your spider valves for my 95. Got it from a friend of mine who is not going to use it. His loss!

BlackIceLSC - thanks for your suggestions also -

Thanks again everyone it's members like you and advice that is given in these forums that makes this site one of the best Lincoln and Cadillac sites if not the best site on the web. :wave

Do the conversion, it's great!

Did you just call Eddie a whorehouse of knowledge?

I call Eddie more than a wharehouse of knowledge. He is a plethora of kindness, a cornocopia of FREE assistance, and a down right nice guy!

Mespock...whatever you decide to do...let me know how I can help.

I appreciate all the support. I'm not your major mechanic type, but I can turn a wrench when needed.

Since last June when I purchased my first Lincoln Mark VIII (since 1 Mark VII and two more Mark VIIIs) I have learned a lot from the members of this sight.

I have found that the LvC members answer more quickly and in depth than other sites that I hve been used.

Also that LvC members are a lot more courtious than the other sites. No hey stupid search the history for your problem, which often occured at other sites.

I am going to convert to springs on my 93. Wife is bummed as she likes the air ride but then she doesn't want to keep putting money into her 12 year old air ride system.

I want the springs cause when she's done with this 93 it will be my mode ride! I give her one more year with it.
