QUICKLS I tried to PM you but it says your full OK I had all that stuff saved on my laptop but it crashed,,,, We talked a while back I asked you about hooking the laptop to your LS So I Also wondering If it is possible to modify somethings also I found somethings on ebay for 100 bucks or so and its a cable and dyno so thats a start but if you could let me know ...

if anyone else has this already It would be helpful too.....

I have my laptop bolted to the back of the backseat - it actually straps into a docking station - so the dock is bolted to the seat and the laptop is snapped into it.

All the cables come under the backseat, side of the tunnel then up under the console.

The keyboard, mouse, usb all come up into the console compartment - so I can plug into them if needed. I rarely use these - sometime plug a memory stick into the usb if I want to play some other music.

The headphone output from the laptop plugs into a mini-stereo-to-rca cable that plugs into the PIE adapter - so I can play music on my laptop and have it come through the stereo.

The serial connector from the laptop goes into the AutoEnginuity cable and into the ODBII port - to do the dyno / real-time data logging

The video cable from the laptop goes to a 8" VGA monitor I mounted up on the passenger side of the cockpit....

I have a bluetooth mouse and on-screen keyboard I use if needed.

I use a Dell 'traveler' car 12v adapter (very small) to run from the docking station power port to the 12V in the console's cigarate lighter plug. I added a switch to turn this off/on since that is a constant power source.

I use wireless my my house (4 computer, 3 laptops) so the car connects to the home wireless for updates, ...etc

You mean you haven't seen the pictures of the hot tub in his trunk? :D Nah, he doesn't have one--it'd slow the car down too much. ;)

Here's a couple of pics.

the cable is all hidden, the screen is mounted on an arm that is attached to the mounting of the glove box - so no extra holes - and nothing visible if I remove it later.

you can't see the laptop from the truck anymore since the new speaker box went in, but you simple lower the back to get to it.

yeah I like that But Im trying to find out what software your using?? And can you modify the PCM with any of this???I am getting the mount like the Police have It mount on the pass, front floor and fold up (or down) And it will be right next to the tv so I can use it while driving.... I like yours but I would kill myself taking it in and out every day(need it for moving from home to car to school and car and inside the office(when I rarely go)) so if you could drop me a line Id apperciate it

Quik...have you had any issues with the amp and those HUGE magnets so close to your computer (hardrive)? I have my subwoofer on my home theatre about a foot from my TIVO and it gives me issues from time to time.

Available for MarkVIII

Quik,
Are there cables and software available for the MarkVIII. If so, could you give me a heads up as to where to start looking. I have unlimited computer resources and would like to do an engine management/monitoring/MP3/DVD setup. Any help appreciated.

What are arm are you using to mount the monitor from the glove box?
How can I get one?

Thanks.

I just purchased a tough metal strap from Home Depot - and then bent it to fit the screw hole, come up the edge of the glove box, under the wood trim and the out to the screen mount.

You can only see it if you look up from the floor mat.

So you trimmed the wood grain to mount the screws??? I was thinking about making a mount for my laptop and was looking at that area to see how strong it is (to see if it can hold the weight)

nope - the strap actually fit under and out the top of the wood trim without having to cut anything.
