Quik hows the SC going?

funny you should ask.....

here's what showed up last weekend.

it's a new design that uses the 3.8L supercharger setup from the Thunderbird SuperCoupe. the manifold is all CNC machined and a much improved piece from version 1.

using this setup could lower the pricing and make many more parts available to us (there are many for sale right now on e-bay).

...and yes, the LS is in pieces for yet another weekend.... :wrench

it was version 1.0 - this is the version 2.0. this new version can fit both 00-02 and the newer 03+ LSes. It also allows us to add the intercooler where we have more room coming forward on the driver's side.

still got a lot of work ahead.

whoa looks like those are going for $400 on ebay

right - so hopefully that means the price of the kit will be cheaper by using these more common parts. the less we have to custom make - the better.

Any idea on when this might be available or what the price might be yet?

sorry - not yet - once the manifold and SC mounting are complete - we have to deal with re-routing all the hoses, cooling tower, cables, EGR, belt, ...

and then look at adding the boost gauge, BOV, ...

and then look at the tuning...

Another thing we have to take into consideration is that it does take time to go from prototype to a released revision. There will probably be a lot of testing involved so we all know if we buy one of these we all don't end up throwing a piston right through out block..lol.. But hopefully all goes well and good luck we need this.. we really really need this..lol ...

Very interesting...Definitely keep us updated.

One question if we went with a setup like this and wanted to upgrade the blower later are there any aftermarket blowers that will bolt into place on that manifold??

Also I'd be alittle worried that, that blower would lay down on the big end on our motors...I know that our 3.9L is obviously close in size to the old 3.8L, but I don't think the old 3.8L reved to 7 grand either did it?? (disclamer: I wasn't much of a ford guy until I bought this car so I could be way off on that last part.)

the blower is only connect to the manifold by mounting points - so technically any eaton M90 should work.

The challenge will not be power from this SC - it is capable of producing much more HP than we can handle. remember we are only gonna run 4-5PSI - phase 1.

Oh yeah I forgot about our high compression ratio...I'm sure it'll work well.
