Well everyone at my dealership was ratting on my lincoln not knowing what it really was about. The one kid there bought an 03 srt-4 which is quick but nothing amazing. And my other friend bought an 03 honda s2000 which is a nice car atleast quality wise.

So one day after work the srt 4 got on the hwy and I followed him. He gave it all he had and i was hanging right there with him. The following day he was pretty upset and said that I cost him 2 grand because he is upgrading to a stage 2 turbo kit for it now. lol

The other one was my friends s2000 he spent the whole day talking :q:q:q:q so that night we went out and went from 60 he got on the gas a bit earlier then me and got off to a car length on me the whole time. We went again and I went from 2nd at 60 and before i knew it we were at 120 side by side neither pulling at all on each other. Then one more was from a red light where i got him from the light and ended up about a car length or two. It was some good racing and both those guys gained a lot of respect for the mark.

i am a full second slower, at least, than an srt with a good driver at a track. what mods do you have?

He raced that one on the highway, little different than from the line. A stock SRT is only low 14s, mod quickly thou. I raced one at the track who put a second on my LSE, he pulled the first 1/8 mostly, and hardly at all past that. The Mark is stronger than the LS 1/8 to 1/4.

Actually the one with the transmission problem is my friends that im still thinking about buying... he gave up on it and now he has a ......... yaris yuck.... I have a jmod, c&l air intake, and thats really about it. I plan on getting gears soon and today ill be putting the 255 fuel pump in it. Also thinking about getting 30lb fuel injectors.

What's this going from a roll crap? Go from a dig like a real man.

:p

Mark VIII's don't come stock with posi so it puts us at an unfair disadvantage off the line.

How is it an unfair disadvantage? With that logic, couldn't the Honda driver say he has an unfair disadvantage against the Lincoln because he has half as many cylinders...?

plus the honda doesn't come stock with a posi - does the srt-4? I don't think it does...

The srt comes stock with a lsd. And we mostly have a disadvantage because its extremely hard for our under torqued motors to move this whale with the stock 3.08 and 3.27 gears. Not necessarily because we dont have a posi, most of our cars with decent tires wont get a lick of tire spin.

I'm sure the lack of any low-end in those cars plays a little role in that, too.

Some of you forget I had a '95 LSC that I gave to my old man a few months ago. ;)

I am pretty sure the honda does have a lsd. But his car is pretty slow off the line too, i raced him from a red light and had the best results with that. On the highway we were dead even.

These motors have plently low end torque, they are just under geared from the factory.

the honda has an LSD.

the problem lies in our weight, stall, and gear. once the car is rolling its pretty strong. loimited slip has little to do with straight line acceleration.

When you say "under geared" do you mean that the factory rear end isn't a high enough number? It's a 3.07:1 stock right? So that means you'd want like a 3.73:1 or something close to that? A Northstar STS or ETC has a 3.71:1 axle.

Yes, exactly.

If your stock and you kept up with both those cars. Then my friend, tell your buddies to learn how to drive stick. Both cars should easily put a few car lengths on you.

Remember, both SRT-4 and S2K are as fast, if not, faster than a 99-04 Mustang GT. We all know a stock mark 8 is no match for a 99-04 stock manual GT.

arent trolls only supposed to hang out for a couple days?

anyways....i trapped 98 mph stock. 99+ GTs trap 97-100 for the most part. S2Ks trap 95-101 depending on driver.

as i said in my last post our problem is getting our fat ass off the line. 2 tons+lack of low end torque+tall gearing=:q:q:q:qty launch.

axle ratio isnt all that matters. the caddys may have a 3.71 but if the trans gearing is tall it wont really matter.

Granted you may have trapped 98 mph stock. Not many mark 8's trap that high. The norm is like 94-95, while the norm for the other cars are 99-100.

Again, the drivers sucked.

did you spin when yout rapped a 98? I normally trap a 92-3 but when i spin its more like a 97-8

well its mostly stock, all i have is the cold air intake, jmoded trans, the copper plugs that geno recommends and the msd wires, thats about it.

It was dead even with the s2000 but i saw on a site somewhere that the 03s that are stick only run like a 14.8 so it makes sense that thing was screaming when we went at it, redline is 9000. The guy with the srt 4 had the car for like 5 days when we raced and that would explain why that happened but they gained a lot of respect instead of them just talking trash all the time.

Tonight i came up on some turbo jetta and he pulled on me about a car length but then agian my car isnt running well seems to be missing sometimes i can't figure out whats wrong. I figured it was the fuel pump so i bought the 255lph pump but its no better. It has to be a fuel problem so i bought 30 pound injectors for it that I am gonna put in it and if that doesnt fix it im gonna buy a regulator too.

any s2k that runs a 14.8 has the :q:q:q:qty driver mod.

i did not spin on my runs. 2.29 60' no spin.

the car now has about 35 97+ mph traps.

An S2k, with a decent driver should run 13.9-14.1@99-101 mph (AP2's are a bit quicker than AP1's). They are a full second or more faster than a Mark 8 and trap a few mph higher as well. The guy did not kow how to drive.
