Can anybody give me some tips for installing this radio that I got the other day? Its a Kenwood KDC-MP628. I need info on what ALL of the wires do(the stock harness wires) so I will have something to help make the installation Quick/Easy. Also, I already have a sub and amp setup with a impedence adapter, so the RCAs are just coming through the back seat. Should I run the RCAs down the pass side? The Power and Remote are running down the driver side. Thanks!

Are you planning on cutting off the stock plug harness?

About the RCA's, definitley run them on the opposite side from the power wires.

Oh ya, do you have the JBL system?

I bought my harness for my 94 JBL at a Circuit City, in the back where they do the installs. It was about 20 bucks, it looks like a little cube, I'd get you a pic of it if I had a digi cam. The plug you need is all the way to the right in this pic. Plus the power plug, should come together.

I dont want to cut my stock plug harness. They gave me the harness adapter that looks somwhat like the one on the left. I got a harness that looks exactly like the one on the right with my radio. Oh yeah, I do have the JBL system. The guy told me to just make sure I power up the amp, and that is the only thing I really have to worry about.

I replaced all of my stock speakers with Infinity Reference 6.5" component speakers. In the rear. I have two Infinity 260 watt 2-channel amplifiers. One bridged to run the components, and the other running one 12" Infinity Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer. I rewired all the speaker wires because they weren't strong enough to run this set up. It was very worth it. Sounds awesome to. It has the ability to rattle your teeth if I choose, or I can hear the subtle sounds of a saxaphone from some jazz music. The best system I ever installed.

Thanks for the info! I need help with the head unit, although your system sounds like its pretty bangin yo.

Thats cool. I really wish I could get some info on the wiring. Im installing the radio tommorow, so any help would be appreciated!

What kind of wiring are you talking about? If you buy the wiring kit,Its all color coded .Very hard to screw up even if you didnt do it before.Red to red and so on.As far as the RCA's I have always ran my RCA's opposite of my power and remote but Im not sure if you always have too.

WOW! Thanks for your help everyone! The install was very simple. I kept the Line output converter, because i didnt have the RCAs to go from the dash to the trunk. The reason I even posted is because the adapter looked weird, So i go to the professional place down the street and figure out that the dealer that sold me the radio gave me the wrong harness adapter, for the regular system. I got the PREMIUM audio adapter and it was simple. And I remember saying to the person working "I have the Premium audio".
