Hi, I've been having some trouble w/ my radio in my 91 lsc. Up untill a few days ago everytime I would turn on the radio it would work fine for about 10-30 seconds, then it would play this really annoying buzzing sound. The higher you turn the sound up, the higher the buzzing gets and it seems to be coming for the speakers. Now just a few days ago everytime I turn the radio on it won't even be able to find a station... it just searches through a bunch of them with alot of static in the backround. Before this I had the amplifer unplugged and the radio off for awhile and now that I've tried to keep them on it seems my control panel w/ time date mpg ect has shut off. I don't know if the 2 problems are related but it seems odd it would happen one after another. The thing that gets me is when I put in a tape, it plays perfectly. I've already tried switching the amplifer, that wasn't the problem. Now I'm thnking of maybe trying the radio itself, or maybe the antenna. Just thought I'd swing by here first to see if anyone else had the same problem or recognizes it. Thanks, matt

If the tape works you have narrowed things down. It is either the antenna or the tuner in the radio. Check out the antenna; if that is not the culprit, then you have a bad tuner and will need a new head unit.

I would check the connection between the head unit and the antenna and then go in the back and make sure antenna is actually coming out. The antennas on these things usually go bad.

Good thinking, I had forgotten that the '90+ have an automatic power antenna.

Yeah, I've seen the antenna mechanism not work but you can still hear the motor turning
