at first I was soooo against the health plan...but driving into work today, as I have done for 25+ years....
I thought....hummmm....free health care....ok...all I need to do is pay my house of with my 401K, get a part time job to keep my taxes paid, gas electric, cellie paid and I am set!!!!!
I LOVE THIS PLAN!!!!! Why should I work!!!! time to play baby, I'm retireing!!!!
Wish I would have held off on the 1,500 oral surgery I just paid for and the 300.00 in Dr. bills last month...dang it!

...if Obamacare gets implemented, the free ride is over for the rest of the world. No more innovation in the health care industry. And you're prime ministers and premieres will have no where to go to get important surgery.

And let's not forget that America has been footing the bill for most of the West's defense for the last 60 years. That's over too.
Times and priorities change.
Every destroyer procured represents our failure as a species and a school or hospital not built as Eisenhour said when he warned us about the dangers of the military industrial complex.
Eisenhower also warned about the scientific establishment and scientific elite in that same speech.
I don't think he saw some sort of trade off as you are characterizing it...
